During CNC machining, hundreds of position, speed, acceleration and jerk setpoints are generated by the control. The electric drives generate speed and current command values for the motors of each axis. The position and angle sensors generate a wide range of actual values.
values. The drives generate speed, angle, position and current actual values. Other relevant data includes information about the machining job and the tools used.
Our edge computer is integrated as a Profinet device in the control cabinet and records CNC and drive data at 1,000 Hz, as well as current values of the drives at 15,000 Hz. Data is pre-processed and communicated to intranet/cloud servers via TCP/IP protocols.
All data is stored in databases in a structured way. Big Data algorithms access this data for various applications.
